Painting was a half opened door to another world, one not necessarily “magnificent” but irreconcilable with the real world. Out of this world actually.       In the beginning, it was more the intense feeling of an adventure, not a project for an occupation or a career. It’s also true that you see only what you’re looking at, and the world was very far away then;
it was beyond the painting and pictures in the home of my adolescence.
At first, a painter does little but copy others or discover them. When starting out,
maybe they just feel the need to paint.
But soon this “calling” transformed into something that had to be fully realized.
