La pittura è stata la porta socchiusa per un altro mondo non necessariamente “magnifico” ma un mondo irriducibile a quello reale .
Fuori da questo mondo.

All’inizio era più il sentimento violento d’una avventura, non il progetto d’ una sistemazione o carriera in questo mondo; poi è vero che si vede
solo ciò che si guarda e il mondo era allora lontano, era oltre la pittura e i quadri della casa della mia adolescenza.

Un pittore all’inizio non fa che copiarne un’altro,
o scoprirlo.
E all’inizio forse non ha sentito altro che una necessità di dipingere.
Presto però questa “vocazione” ha cambiato in qualcosa che “ doveva riuscire a raggiungere .” |

In the beginning, it was more the intense feeling
of an adventure, not a project for an occupation
or a career. It’s also true that you see only what you’re looking at, and the world was very far away then; it was beyond the painting and pictures in
the home of my adolescence. |

At first, a painter does little but copy others or discover them.
When starting out, maybe they just feel the need to paint.
But soon this “calling” transformed into something that "had to be fully realized". |
